Takayasu¢¥s Disease

Abstract
Takayasu¢¥s disease is a nonspecific inflammatory disease of the aorta, of it¢¥s major branches, and of the pulmonary arteries. The disease affects women over men in a ratio of 8 to 1. In as many as three fourths of cases, onset is in the teenage years, although cases beginning in infancy or late middle age have been reported.
We experienced a case of Takayasu¢¥s disease in a 24-year-old female who was suffered from intermittent occipital headache and impaired vision for 4 years.
Laboratory datas include elevated levels of C-reactive protein, increased antistreptolysin-0 titers. Aortography showed localized narrowing of left subclavian artery, focal dilatation of abdominal aorta and narrowing of the lumen of the left renal artery.
